In the Farrelly remake, Ben Stiller plays an aging bachelor that feels pressured to marry and "get on with life".After grudgingly stepping across the threshold with a seemingly great catch, he soon finds he's bitten off a bit more than he'd thought. His new wife is a "freak" in the sack, preferring rough upside-down sex to Stiller's more "vanilla" style. She also can be a bit acerbic and eccentric.
While on his honeymoon, Stiller falls for an attractive mid-western gal who just loves to have fun and seems very genuine. Of course, uncomfortable revelations and situational comedy ensues.
This is formulaic rom-com defined. You know what's coming. That's OK, though, because there IS some decent comedy to be had. Stiller plays opposite his (real-life) father. Jerry Stiller, though, seems forced and un-funny saying things like "bitches be crazy...". C'mon. What a waste.
Overall, the film was decent Friday night entertainment and worth investing 90 minutes for a bit of escapism. It's not "great", so don't expect too much.
